This was a much smaller airplane than that which took us to McMurdo. There were only 12 of us on the flight, not counting the Air Force personnel.

What appeared to be an enormous, man-made path in the middle of Antarctica was surely instead some sort of structure caused by ice flow.
A short 3 hours later, touchdown at the South Pole.
